From hiking Mount Fuji or white-water rafting on the Tone River, Japan has a host of adventure opportunities for the thrill-seeking rugby junkie.
Japan is a fascinating land of contrasts: ancient and modern, traditional and high-tech, peaceful and exhausting, which is why there is an adventure around every corner.
During your holiday, take the time to explore ancient temples, imperial palaces and historic sites; experience Japanese hospitality in a comfortable ryokan (family inn); and soak your cares away in an onsen (hot spring) or sento (bath house) to complete a Rugby World Cup 2019 experience that will be second to none.
Don’t fancy the ropeway? Not to worry! For the avid hikers, there is an alternative method of ascending the mountain by which you can follow a trail all the way up to the observation deck.
Koishikawa Botanical Garden
Owned by the most prestigious University in Japan, the gardens host a few thousand species of tree and plants. As you wonder through, your senses will be overloaded as colours pop from plant to plant and the aromas fill the air.
This is the perfect opportunity to have a relaxing afternoon stroll through some of Tokyo’s most beautiful areas.
The main attraction is the gorgeous shrine with a variety of colours popping out everywhere. However, the journey doesn’t have to stop there. With various hiking opportunities, you can get to see some of the most beautiful parts of Japan. There is an opportunity to scale the mountain even further, where you will get some of the best views imaginable with picturesque landscapes from every angle.
Imperial Palace East Gardens
The perfect spot for a relaxing walk in serenity, the gardens are only a 10 minute walk away from Tokyo Station.
There are also plenty of lodging facilities complete with hot spring baths that you can enjoy on a day-trip. It’s about an hour away from the centre of Sapporo, but you can go without a car, so why not check it out.
